I had a great idea for a blog article this week. It’s one of those subjects that I’ve been meaning to write about for a long time.
As soon as I had the idea I started a note in my writing app of choice Bear and threw together a bit of an outline. Once I had a number of “headline” sections, I went back through and started adding ideas in each section.
I don’t always make an outline, in fact my writing happens in a lot of different ways. This article you’re reading is basically me sitting and typing in a “stream of conscience” manner. For other articles where the subject is a tad complex or I want to make sure I touch on a number of points, I generally start with an outline.
So, for this article I was working on, I started to flesh out the sections one by one. As I worked I kept thinking of additional things I needed to include. Those ideas went into new sections. Before I new it the Bear note bloomed into a full fledged “whole bunch of words.”
In case it wasn’t clear, this post you’re reading now isn’t the post I’m writing about. As I sat down this evening, the night before this post gets published, I realized that there was no way that I was going to be able to do the subject justice in the time before I need to publish tomorrow morning.
Instead of trying to cobble something together I’ve decided to give myself some more time to research and write a more in depth article around the subject I want to talk about.
Also, it’s a bit meta to be writing an article about an article that I’m writing and not ready to share, but that’s where I’m at tonight.
Let’s Talk a Bit About the Week
This week shall go down in history as “the first week of the 2019 strawberry season.” That has made it a fairly busy week here on the farm. That isn’t a bad thing! It’s great to finally see the farm start getting some return on a crop that we started working on last July.
This time of the year I always have a full schedule and it starts to feel like I just have to choose which “fire” to put out next. I don’t really like living life this way, but it is amazing how much I can get done when I have no other options. Being super busy also provides a clarifying filter to be able to look at things with, it can really help sort the important things from the lesser important things.
Well, my cup of tea is running low, so its time to wrap this up and head to bed. One last thing I need to mention is that I posted a new video this week. It’s another “one take wonder” kind of video and basically is me rambling, so only if you’re brave should you click over to YouTube to watch that.
This post feels very ramble to me. I probably didn’t give it as much time and attention as it deserved, but this is all the time I’ve got, so I guess it’ll have to do for now.
