I knew yesterday morning that I needed to get some level of methodology and scheduling back into my life. After a month an a half of running the business end of the fall season on my dads farm I needed to get some things caught up, finished and figured out. A month of running from one fire to another trying to stay just ahead of the flames has a way of leaving a number of things that just don’t get done.
As I was thinking about productivity and how to “get back on track” I thought back to last year about this time – I was doing some thinking and writing about productivity and working my way through a book that was supposed to help me live a more productive life.
I’m still not entirely sure if the book really helped me with anything but one piece of advice that came from that book added to a bit of personal experience and some trial and error definitely had some value.
Yesterday, for the first time in awhile, I once again took a few minutes to actually plan my day. Imagine that. Thinking about the day before actually starting into the day itself.
Anyway… yesterday went fairly well. I think I’ll be doing this some next week as well…
What do you do to stay focused on the tasks that need to get done every day?
