Beneath These Branches – Tree – Photo
You may have noticed by now, if you’ve been around here for a few days at least, that I like trees. They seem to reach out and pull me in.
So here is another tree!
This image was made on a very nice morning drive. I was about an hour from my place at the Appomattox Surrender grounds. The sun had just come up and I was shooting like a madman.
I was just beginning to learn about HDR photography and was experimenting with the whole technique. HDR, like many techniques in photography, is one of those things that I learned about… and then proceeded to shoot everything as an HDR. That made for some disasters, as well as some images that turned out fairly well.
Technically
I should write a post about HDR photography and how I process my images using HDR. But I don’t have time for all that right now. Suffice to say I try to always shoot my bracketed exposures on a tripod. It makes life much easier when it comes time for merging and aligning.
If I remember right I took this image through Photoshop’s merge to HDR feature and tone-mapped it inside of Photoshop. Beyond that I may have used a bit of Nik’s Color Efex… and a few tweaks in Lightroom.
And there you have it!
Thanks for stopping by!
