Today I signed into Facebook. Not so much because I like to use Facebook, but rather because the business that I do some work with has a Facebook page, part of my job is to make sure that it is kept up to date, messages get answered etc. Well, when I first signed in my… Read More
This evening I was working on a few images that will be used for several marketing campaigns around my Dad’s farm in the next few weeks. I couldn’t help but notice a couple of images that I took while we were at the beach a few weeks ago… so I worked on one of them…. Read More
It’s been a little longer than it is supposed to be between blog posts. I’ve been trying really hard to keep my schedule of Tuesday and Thursday posts here on my personal blog. The first part of this week I was in Virginia Beach with my brother for a strawberry conference. Ever since I’ve been trying to catch up on a bunch of different things.
Meeting Tony Cece
While I was in VA Beach, I was honored to spend a couple of hours visiting with a photographer friend of mine, Tony Cece! I’ve always been impressed with Tony and his work, it was really great to meet him in person.
If you don’t know who Tony is, here are a few links to give you an idea of the great photography work that he is doing for Operation Blessing.
Definitely check out his work, he does a really great job of telling peoples stories using both photography and video.
When Life Goes Full Time
Something interesting happens when you basically leave everything you should be doing for a half a week and then come back to try to catch everything back up to speed.
Sticking with the program.
There is pressure at times to quit doing something. The reasons may vary.
- We can be too busy.
- Or want things to be different.
- Or maybe it’s just hard to stick to the program.
- Or maybe the results aren’t there.
Today I’m thinking about two things in particular that I sort of wish I didn’t have to do. At least not today.
I do however need to do both of those things. – So I will.
Because finishing something, even though you don’t feel like it is an important life lesson. There are things that we just have to finish.
- Relationships [not sure they are ever “finished”]
- Blog Posts [because I said I would]
- Washing Dishes
- Doing Laundry
At any rate.
Shifting gears. Let’s talk a bit about photography.
Shooting the Stars
I made an image the other week. [It’s the one at the top of this post.] I kind of like it.
The reason I like it though has little to do with its technical quality.
I Drew a Face – And Jumped of a Cliff
Last week I did something that I’ve never done before.
I jumped off a cliff with no parachute. Only a wing suit.
To be honest, as I fell I didn’t know what was going to happen when I hit the ground. But as the ground rushed up to meet me…
…before I tell you the rest of the story I need to fill you in on some details about how I came to be standing on top of a cliff, looking down at the world below me. With a wing suit attached to my body.
We Are All Dreamers We’ve all dreamed of building something and selling it. Whether a piece of software, a book, a desk, a pie, a house or any other thing that can be built and shipped or delivered. Once we step away from the things that we normally allow to hold us back and we… Read More
