Final Rest – Graveyard
This is one of those images that kind of made itself. Sure I did a little bit, but a large portion of the image was just being there and everything coming together at the right time.
I had been hiking around the Appomattox surrender grounds and came back to the parking lot of a particular “pull off.” As I was getting things back into the car I looked across the road and saw this graveyard, profiled on top of the ridge with some interesting sky behind it.
All of the “stuff” came back out and I jogged across the road to make this image.
Technically
I believe this was a three shot HDR. I don’t remember exactly what I did, but I do remember pushing it around some with Photoshop’s tone-mapping Beyond that I did some cleanup on the image and took it back into Lightroom for a few tweaks and finally took it into Nik’s Color Efex Pro for a few things to finish it up.
That’s about it.
A Note About My Current Posts
If you’ve hung around my work for the past few years you undoubtedly recognize at least some of these images. Most of them are ones that were taken in the past. I will begin to sprinkle in some new work as well and eventually hope to keep it all quite fresh.
Thanks for stopping by,
