Evening Blues – Tree – Photo
Good evening everyone – I hope you’ve had a good day.
This picture was taken at a little pull off along the Blue Ridge Parkway. The parkway is one of my favorite places to drive and seeing this image makes me realize that it is just about time to go for a drive again!
In Terms of Processing – Technically
This image is an HDR, so I shot it on a tripod. I believe I shot 7 frames for this image, but I could be wrong about that exact number. One thing I have learned, the hard way, is that when I am shooting an HDR image the brackets need to go much farther than you would initially think they would. For instance on most of my HDR shots that include a light fixture I will shoot an “almost black” frame as my bottom exposure. It really helps the overall image look better if your highlights are able to come back at least a little bit.
So I brought this series of exposures into Lightroom and then shipped them into Photoshops “merge to HDR” feature. The resulting 32 bit tiff file was saved back into Lightroom where I worked on it for a little while.
Once I was almost done I jumped into Nik’s Color Efex and made a few little tweaks via a few effects… and then I was done, ready to export for the web.
Thanks for stopping by!
